What Is Your Vision? A Weekly Guided Image

There is something magical about the word “envision” or “vision”.  Within the context of our personal aspirations or goals it is quite powerful, and oftentimes intimidating.  When we focus on a job or a project, it is easy to conjure up how to envision what the future might look like, and use that to inspire our work toward that end, the goal we are trying to achieve:  money, career advancement, buying a car or a home.  This is part of the American Dream, and books, blogs, infomercials, and webinars abound with methods to help one envision in order to manifest a successful outcome that matches their vision of the future.

How does this work with your daily life.  With your RIGHT NOW?  How about your pregnancy, or desire to get pregnant? Your family?  What is your vision for your baby?  What desire or dream do you hold for your child? How does this help you right now in this very moment?  If we take the same energy of focus to envision the future of our baby’s lives, or the outcome of our parenting that we want to achieve.  To pray or meditate on getting pregnant, or how or pregnancy will progress and how we will experience our birth labor…  What would we receive from that activity?

I believe that all of the books are correct, that the thread of most of our religious beliefs all hold true, the power of prayer, meditation, Wayne Dyer, Chopra, The Secret, Yoga, Jungian psychology, Steiner…so why not apply these methods to the rest of our lives?  Not just financial abundance or when we or a loved one has a terminal illness..NOW!!!

What would you envision for the intimate moments in your life RIGHT NOW, if you truly believed that you could manifest it?  Stop multi-tasking, yes I meant NOW.  It doesn’t take too much time to focus.  If you are in the car (naughty naughty), pull over to the curb and take the next 5 minutes to just focus, you have time.  Place both feet on the floor, sit up straight, and take a big breath – and let that breath go just as big….okay, now, let’s do this:

Envision what you want in your life at this moment.  Maybe it is 5 minutes of peace today, perhaps you want to relax about your pregnancy or your relationship with your partner.  Or to have your home life be more calm and less struggle with the kids and balancing their activities and school with your daily obligations.  Finances are for another time.  Whether you are preggo now or not, place your hand or both hands on your belly and continue to breathe, deeply.  Feel the connection of your mind becoming more peaceful with your belly moving in and out.

INHALE worry, fear, concern, control and EXHALE peace, love and faith.  Keep inhaling and exhaling those thoughts.  Let a rhythm begin.  Spend as much time on the exhale as you do the inhale.  Transform the thoughts into belief of peace, love, faith.  Let those words and the calmness that surrounds them wrap you up in a vision of you sitting in peace, love, and faith.  Any other thoughts as they come in release them by exhaling the words peace, love, faith. Allow your mind to float for a few seconds in this thought. Inhale smells  and colors that support a vision of increased peace, love, and faith right now.  It could be cookies baking, it could be the smell of rosemary or a gardenia flower. Feel as you continue breathing that you are wrapping yourself up in an amazing soft comforting blanket of a color and texture that is incredibly soothing to you.

Sit in that blanket, wrapped in peace, love and faith and take 3 more inhales and exhales.

Now deeply inhale and exhale wiggling your fingers and toes, fluttering your eyes open.  Take a big exaggerated yawn with your mouth.  Roll your shoulders backwards a few times.  If you can stretch your arms up or out wide.

You’ve just taken 5 Minutes to connect to your breath, your belly from which life is created, and focusing on the ultimate vision for immediate soothing.  Enjoy the rest of your day or evening.
