Hey! I am a mother of a 3 year old and am so thrilled to have found this website! I am a single mom pursuing a career in nurse midwife and am sad that I missed this month's events, but I will be sure to try and host my own and be apart of this amazing movement. I am a firm believer of healthy nutrition, breastfeeding, and exercise, and a positive support team in pregnancy. This is so great to see that two women took the initiative to make a change in others, something I look forward to doing.

I'm thrilled to see that there is a Pregnancy Awareness Month. As a mother 5 times over, a midwife student, a doula and a breastfeeding advocate, I'm so encouraged when I see efforts to support, educate and unite women and truly all of society in the life-changing experience of pregnancy and childbirth.

I'm also a survivor of Hyperemesis Gravidarum. This pregnancy related disease was so debilitating and severe that I have suffered permanent heart damage from one of my pregnancies. With my first 3 daughters I was told it was in my head, a physical manifestation of me not wanting the child I was carrying. I was told that if I wanted to be well I would. But no matter how much I wanted that I never got better. Isolated and alone I faced depression, scheduled the termination of a much wanted pregnancy, and much, much more. Education and support is desperately needed for health professionals and women and their families experiencing HG.

It is my desire to see a Hyperemesis Gravidarum Awareness Week. I'm appealing to the HER Foundation to this end as well and would love to see PAM include information and education on HG.

Thank you for the work you do, this is such a wonderful and needed event.

Hi,
My name is Kristin Dambrauskas, and I'm the national awareness coordinator for DrugWatch.com. While I was browsing through a number of pregnancy and drug safety sites, I came across your website and was very impressed by the information you have listed on your resources page.
Over-the-counter medications account for as many as one in 10 birth defects in the children of women who have taken the medications during pregnancy. Many prescription drugs, such as Accutane, pose similar dangers as well as additional side effects such as an increased risk of liver failure and gastrointestinal disorders. Our site provides up-to-date information about the side effects of common prescription and over-the-counter medications to help educate consumers and patients.
I noticed that you already had some other pregnancy resources listed at pregnancyawareness.com/links/ and thought you might be interested in including a link to our site as well. Please let me know if you are interested. I am available by e-mail at kristin(@)drugwatch.com or you may reach me directly at (800) 452-0949. With your help, we can keep the public informed about important drug information. Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Kristin Dambrauskas
