Inspired by a Fit4Mom, Lisa Druxman

Lisa Druxman is a fitness expert and a mom on a mission, that is for sure.  Founder of Stroller Strides and Fit4Mom, Lisa has been a Pregnancy Awareness Month Lisa Druxman is a fitness expert and a mom on a mission, that is for sure.  Founder of Stroller Strides and Fit4Mom, Lisa has been a Pregnancy Awareness Month advisor for almost 8 years.  I have had the pleasure of working with Lisa during each of our campaigns, and enjoy every second of it!  Lisa is bubbling with enthusiasm and knowledge and embodies a real passion for teaching and helping women to aspire to be their best.  Whether in fitness, as a mom, or in life! Last month we worked together on a campaign to increase awareness about stroller running fitness.  I took a shot at throwing some questions her way, and this is what she told me:

AD:  What inspires you each day to take care of yourself and be physically fit?

LD:  My family does. I know it sounds cliche but I truly believe that I am a better wife and mother when I take care of myself. And I believe wholeheartedly that I need to be a healthy role model for my family.

AD:  What was the pivotal experience that made you choose to create Stroller Strides?

LD:  It was one of those ah-ha moments. I was a fitness professional and a new mom. I figured every mom wants to get her body back and I could help with that. But I needed support as a new mom. I was searching for a village so I decided to start my own!

AD:  Do you really work out every day?

LD:  Yes! My goal is to workout every day, fully knowing that life will get in the way 1 – 2 days. If I actually worked out Mon – Sat, I’ll take Sun off. My workouts don’t always look like a traditional hour at the gym. I’m fine with squeezing in a 20 minute high intensity workout in my garage if I have to.

AD:  How did you celebrate National Stroller Run Day?

LD:  I was in Washington D.C. teaching an instructor training for FIT4MOM. Seemed like a very appropriate place to be, inspiring moms about the benefits of running with a stroller!
